My horrible, horrible, evil headache lasted all night long (all night!). How frustrating is that?!?

Have you guys been seeing these local San Francisco TV commercials "HIV STOPS WITH ME"? The website has personal information on all of the spokesmodels. I'm in love with Jeffrey.... (swoon)

One of my greatest pet peeves is having a headache so painful and strong that it stays with you all night long while you're trying to sleep. Someone please come over and knock me out!

And I thought I was a "friend" of yours Victor.

I'm so happy to have found this link. This was my favorite for so many years back in the day and I miss it terribly. (Thanks John)

Point one: the internet is a great way to meet new people. Point two: having a little uncomplicated fun is a great thing. Point three: smile. Enough said.

Matthew called my site "very soothing." That's terrific! That's exactly what I wanted my site to represent: soothing, peace, relaxation....... In fact, if I could figure out how to do it, I would have some kind of water trickling noise or rain forest sounds in the background. Probably drive people crazy, but just relaaaaxxxx...........

I just had the craziest day over money. I went to the ATM machine this morning and my card wouldn't work. I went to another ATM machine and it still wouldn't work. Starving and in need of coffee, I ran to my office where I was late for a meeting. I headed to my bank after the meeting for an hour's wait and problem-solving session. We finally realized that my card had been cancelled because I had received a new one in the mail. But I hadn't activated the new one yet, so I had to run back home and activate it and I'm just now having breakfast. How can the bank justify cancelling my card before the new one is in existence? How very annoying.

I realized finally why I was so nervous last night about going to the fundraiser for Governor Carnahan: I felt intimidated by all the rich folks and was worried that they would only see me as common Missouri white trash. In response to these internal intimidation issues of mine, I proceeded nervously to end up acting more white trash than ever and suddenly grew a hillbilly twang in my speaking. So much for trying to blend in..........

Well, tonight's my fundraiser for my Missouri Democratic Governor Mel Carnahan in his run for the Senate against the arch-conservative, right-wing, extremist incumbent Republican Senator John Ashcroft. I'm nervous for some reason and I'm not exactly sure why. Wish me luck!

Jessie complains that he's too busy with work and school now, but apparently he still has too much time on his hands. However, a real picture of me dressed for Folsom isn't much better, i guess. Note: about as dangerous as I can get, in order to be a part of Folsom, is to wear a COBRA t-shirt-- COBRA being the arch-enemy of G.I.Joe.

For all of you closet Survivor fans (and I don't mean the insipid TV show, I mean one of the greatest 80's rock bands that ever lived!), the search is over for the lyrics to all of your favorite Survivor songs.

The poor little girl doesn't have the heart to tell her father that she's for Gore.

Tonight's a perfect night for some quiet, romantic music from George Michael. Don't you think?

Roses...... Roses! My sweet companion John gave me roses tonight and took me to dinner for my birthday. I can't remember the last time someone gave me flowers. I think I received some from this guy back in 1882, but that was back when men knew how to treat a lady.

Don't forget to set your VCR's. The new Buffy is on tonight!

Ok, I must say that I'm hooked. I can't stop singing "Give Me One More Night (Una Noche)" by 98 Degrees. Plus they are way hot. What's a boy to do?

Did I mention to register to vote? There's only two weeks left to do it. Think of all the people who died and went through family ruin in order for us to have the right to vote.....

Monday, September 25, 2000

I know so many of you are dying to see my hometown's webpage. Glory be to Independence, Missouri (hometown of President Harry S Truman)!

Register to Vote! The last day to register is October 10th in order to vote in the presidential election. If the link doesn't help you, you can always simply call your city/county board of elections (in the blue pages of your phone book) or check with your local library and find out where you can register nearest you. Just vote! It's more important than you may think. (My personal subliminal message: Vote Democrat)

I'm wiped out from a long day of electioneering at the Folsom Street Fair. The fair is not really my cup of tea in that it's more lewd than I prefer, but I do appreciate its openness to all looks, ages, and walks of life. It's nice to get away from the normal buffer-than-thou attitude of gay male life. However, all will return to said normalcy with next week's Castro Street Fair. Ya'll better hit the gym this week.

The State of Jefferson. How about letting Washington, DC become a state with real voting power first......

Jessie is the sweetest! He took me out for my birthday last night and gave me some really great Simpsons stuff for presents. If you see him on the street, give him a big kiss!

Cyndi Lauper, Debbie Gibson, and Tiffany have some thoughts on the new breed of teen sensations...............

I think I probably saw every episode of the Facts of Life several times over as I was growing up. I got to see it again last night on Nick at Night where it was "a very special episode" that taught us about cerebral palsy. Blair was embarrassed by her cousin who had "CP" but all was fixed in 30 minutes and everyone loved each other. The simple days...........

Friday, September 22, 2000

Well, here goes........................ Goodbye 20's. I'm now 30. I remember as a child thinking that I would be 30 in the year 2000, but who ever seriously thought that the year 2000 would come?

Thursday, September 21, 2000

The clock is winding down: I turn 30 tomorrow. How bizarre is that? My sweet friend Johnny took me out for an impromptu birthday dinner tonight. He's the nicest guy and David is lucky to have found him. ;-) And I got the greatest package full of wonderful gifts this week from my second mother, Susan. Wasn't that nice?

When we allow witch-hunts to go on and on without any type of control over the process, we end up paying for it. Remember, folks, it's because of this insipid 6 year witch-hunt, that the whole Monica Lewinsky debacle came about. Let's try and deal with real public policy issues for a change.

From my high school days in 1987 until around 1997 I religiously watched and recorded the billboard charts and knew every song that was on it. Eventually I grew out of it, but it's always fun to check in and see what's going on now and then.

I know that everyone's been crazy to find out the actual lyrics on the new Madonna album............... well, here they are.

Tuesday, September 19, 2000

Today's been very long day. Started at 5:30am and has just kept going and going. I came home early, but I have to go to a debate tonight and pass out literature. Long and tiring day. But I did manage to pick up the new Madonna album and I've just slipped it into the disc player. Yay.....

Is anyone else noticing how hot this year's Olympic swimmers are? Exhibit A, B, C.

Monday, September 18, 2000

I walked into a local bookstore tonight and happened to notice a new book by Banana Yoshimoto titled "Asleep." How cool! I read her first novel, "Kitchen," a few years ago and couldn't stop thinking about it for a long time. So dreamy and smooth; I love the way she writes. I've also read her compilation of short stories in "Lizard," but if you haven't ever heard of her before, go out and get a copy of "Kitchen." It will change your life.

So everyone knows about the new Madonna album that comes out tomorrow, but I have even rarer news: I just learned that Sade has a new album coming out in November. She comes out with an album like every 5 or 6 years, so it's always a long-awaited treat. I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am about this!

Movie night, part 2: Still not feeling all that well, today I watched the long and boring Mission to Mars. Luckily I ended the day with the really beautiful and romantic Moonstruck which I've been wanting to see again for quite a while. Cher looked terrific and was very funny.

I forgot that tonight was the night. I had given my parents tickets for the Kansas City production of Riverdance for Mother & Father's Day earlier this year. They called me tonight and said they had a wonderful time. They really like the show a lot. I'm glad they had a good time.

Movie night: I'm feeling a little under the weather tonight and so I rented several movies. I finally was able to see Boys Don't Cry. This may sound cliche since they both were nominated for Academy Awards and Hilary Swank actually won Best Actress, but amazing acting by Swank and Chloe Sevigny. I also watched Nightmare on Elm Street for the first time. I spent much of my life afraid to watch movies like this. Now, I see it and realize it's rather stupid and full of bad acting.....

Saturday, September 16, 2000

So I'm walking down Market Street today on my way to dinner and I walk past a local theater where Moby is highlighting a sold-out show. A very early line is forming. A bunch of groupies are receiving free cd's and I pretend to be one of them so I can get a cool promotional cd from Moby. I've always liked Moby and this cd is pretty cool. I'm happy. ;-)

This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of! Someone please stop the madness.

Thursday, September 14, 2000

This is so wild. I mean, can you imagine what it must have been like with all that water coming in so quickly?

Wednesday, September 13, 2000

As much as I've needed it lately, I haven't been able to get back to the gym because work has been so overwhelming lately.

Remember when we used to drive in the car and listen to Def Leppard full blast? Remember how great it was to sing along as loud as possible? Now we know the real lyrics......

Thanks to all my friends for the great responses you've been sending in about my new website. You guys are so sweet!

Get ready world and get out of my way! Madonna is releasing her new album. I haven't heard it yet but you should read Victor's take on the new songs. Can't wait to hear it for myself. It's out officially on September 19.

I'm not big on television. I used to watch it a lot as a kid and as a young adult, but now I could care less about most shows. The only shows I currently watch on television are my staples: Simpsons, X-Files, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. For those of you who are not addicted to Buffy yet, the new season starts soon and she's meeting up with Dracula, the very first vampire.

I don't really even watch the show but it's still a great thing that it's on the air, it's so popular, and it won for best comedy. Thank you Ellen for breaking through the glass ceiling.

And now, wouldn't you know, I can't sleep and I have to wake up early in the morning for work.

Sunday, September 10, 2000

This was kind of a bizarre weekend. I just kept sleeping and sleeping and sleeping. Guess I needed it.

I went to see a play tonight. Kinda rare for me. My neighbor Jessie really wanted to go see former child TV star Danny Pintauro in his play "The Velocity of Gary (Not His Real Name)." Honestly, I wasn't that excited about it because I always thought he was one of the worst actors as a child. However, with his age came a great deal of acting ability. The play was a little long, but he handled the solo show very well and he's definitely improved in his acting. He was very good.

Tomorrow is the Sesquicentennial of California's statehood. I'm listening to an NPR story about the gold rush in San Francisco. So many men came from all over the world. So many women were left behind. No wonder this is the Gay capitol of the world.

I found some amazing deals at the Book Sale going on this weekend at Fort Mason. You might want to check it out.

I know this probably sounds crazy, but I'm actually involved in a fundraiser for a U.S. Senate candidate. My wonderful Missouri governor (Democrat Mel Carnahan) is running for the Senate against the rabidly extremist conservative Republican John Ashcroft who is our current senator. It's a very close race and I'm totally pulling for Carnahan to unseat Ashcroft. Whether or not you're from Missouri, this is a very important race with national implications as to where the country goes. Ashcroft is on the extreme right of the political spectrum and we have a tremendous opportunity to replace him with a positive moderate. Please tell your Missouri friends to make sure they're registered to vote and to vote for Carnahan for Senate. And if you can, make a contribution. You can email me for further details. Thanks!

I'm talking with my good friend Gabriel right now. He's in love again.....

By the way, for all of you Jessie groupies, I will be starting up soon the long-awaited "I Love Jessie Website" which everyone can join.

Oh my! Jessie advertised my lil 'ol site on his webpage. I am so honored. Now I will have all of his millions of groupies and blogging friends check out my site. It does make one nervous to know all these people will be checking out my site. Do I feel ready? Do I feel prepared? Dear Jessie, what does all of this publicity mean?

I keep getting homesick for my hometown of Independence, MO. Maybe it's because I subscribe to my hometown paper. Hmmm....

Register to vote now for the November 7th election.

Ok, so I'm too nostalgic for my 80's roots of white trash music in the midwest, but right now I'm listening to the greatist hits of one of my favorites from that time..... (it's a hard habit to break)

Ok, so I'm finally getting this webpage up and running. I've still got a few odds and ends to run through and other pages to finish, but here goes.............

Monday, September 04, 2000

I'm talking to my friend Martin right now. He's the coolest.
